Using candle filter (on top of each category) you can now display not only candles in different languages but also eternal candles only. Have fun. candleserver.com.
If one comments a candle and a new post is added, everyone who commented this candle before gets a notification email about the new article. Good to follow the thread.
Something different, here’s a secret poet. Sure, new art and all, but still poetic. (German).
All this Nazi movies and reports swirls in my head. 60th anniversary of end of war and TV broadcasts are full of it. The fascinating, compromiseless evil. Gruesome and inconceivable of course, but also abstract in a way. I see and read all these things and know, this is how it happened. But it’s so unreal too that sometimes I’m even amused. A screaming, small man and a complete nation following him. Kills, tortures, betrayes and dies for him. Oder did they simply waited for an alibi to do all these things?
Where did all the mass murderers, torturers and sadists come from and - frightening too - where are they now? Where do they drowse? Evolution didn’t make different people out of us within just 60 years. The potential must be still here. Even though nobody admits.
Amon Göth at deathcamp Plaszow. Not a criminal then. He killed more than 500 people by his own hand. Smashed the head of a prisoner and let him report with riven head. Shot him into the back of the head after that. And was no criminal. His girlfriend loved him. He had a nice home at deathcamp and surely enjoyed a good dinner that day. That’s scurrile.
And Amon was one of many. People can also be like that if released. I don’t fool myself. [Holocaust candles].
3000 candles now burning. Another jubilee. When I started Candleserver, when I had the idea and coded for nights, I had no idea where it would lead to. I mean, it has become a really important place for many people. Because they might have no other place to express certain things.
When I read certain candles, this openess, this earnestness, I see Candleserver in a great charge. I expected much more crap and half-heartedness. I don’t want to overrate, it’s just a website, but you see me amazed too. Thanks.
